Hi Ladies! I haven't done a haul post for a while now so I thought it was about time I shared some of my recent purchases with you all. I'd just like to point out I didn't buy all of this at once, probably over the past couple of weeks or so. As soon as I found out I'd landed myself a job I just had to treat myself so I bought the River Island dress and Garage shoes that are featured in my last post here and I am in love with the both. It was nice to finally be able to buy a nice new outfit and not feel guilty about it. I also had to get myself some new work wear which is the reason behind my other purchases. The good thing about my new job is that their isn't a strict dress code so even though we have to look smart we can pretty much wear whatever we want. We also have 'dress down Fridays' where we can wear casual clothes and 'fashionable' clothes so this obviously called for a few new bits and bobs for my wardrobe.

As you can see I bought myself a coupe of black skirts as they will go with absolutely everything, a sheer blouse that I LOVE, a cute little skater dress and a blazer. Apart from the skater skirt which is from Topshop, all of these items are from Primark. The Primark in Newcastle city centre was being refurbished over the summer while I was in Australia but as I didn't have a job I couldn't bare the thought of going in there without any money. However, as soon as I got the call telling me I'd got the job, one of the first thing on my to-do's list was going for a trip to Primark. All I can say is oh my goodness, Primark have UPPED THEIR GAME! I literally wanted everything but as I haven't actually been paid yet I had to reign it in and stick to the 'essentials' - we'll call them that so I feel better about my shopaholic ways.

As for 'unessentials', I bought myself this cute little missguided studded cropped top a few weeks ago before I even found out I had a job. Tut, tut, slap on the wrist for me. I do love it though and think it will look super cute with a high-waisted skirt. Continuing the studded theme I bought some ballet pumps to wear for work that are embellished with a bow and studs and I also bought this studded clutch bag for my friend Debra's birthday. I really wanted to buy one for myself too but I have one almost identical in black so I thought buying another while I'm skint might be a teeny bit greedy. I do love it though so I might re-consider this 8).

So there we go, all the lovely clothing and accessories I have been buying lately. I was rather gutted last week as after buying all this I found out I have a £250 bill to pay and have almost NO money left. Why do things like that always happen at the most inconvenient of times? Ah well, it's a good job I'm getting paid at the end of this month. Bring it on.

Have you bought yourself anything nice lately?

Lots of Love,

Weekend Outfits | Fun in the Sun

Maxi - Primark
Crochet Waistcoat - New Look
Nails - Models Own 'Hedonist'

Stripey Dress - Primark
Belt - Missguided

So Mature!

Hey Ladies! I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. The weather has been amazing in Oz so I thought I'd shade a couple of outfits I've been wearing. Considering its the middle of winter here in Australia, I really can't complain with temperatures in the mid 20s. I hope the weather has perked up in the UK, I hear its been terrible lately. Typical English summer. If you follow me on Instagram (kayleighjcouture) you may know that me and my boyfriend took my two year old brother out to the park and to feed the ducks yesterday. We had the best day, well apart form being chased by a huge herd of geese (yes, I almost pooed my pants!). Apart from this slight mishap we had so much fun and my brother had a whale of a time. He even woke up this morning shouting 'Kayleigh, Matt.. Take me to the ducks!' haha SO cute. As you can see, I wore two outfits. First being this gorgeous maxi dress from Primark and the second being this cute little stripy tunic, also from Primark. Both of these dresses were absolute steals. I believe the maxi was £10.00 and the stripy dress was £5.00. Good old Primark, it never lets me down. When we got home from the park/ducks we sunbathed and played football in the garden so I decided a maxi dress wasn't the most appropriate attire. Me and the boyf also decided we would have a handstand competition (see above) - because we are obviously so mature! My little brother found it highly amusing anyway. I'd also like to point out that these photos were taken and edited on my iPhone so I apologise if the quality isn't as great as my normal outfit posts. To be honest, I wasn't really planning on taking any blog pics so it was a bit spur of the moment. However, I must admit I'm quite impressed with the quality of the pictures, not bad for a phone camera in my opinion.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Its my little brothers 3rd birthday tomorrow, the boy and I have bought him an electric quad bike so I can't wait to see his face when he opens it. I suspect there will be lots of excitement in the Johnson household. What are you getting up to this weekend?

Lots of Love,

OOTD | Crochet Colbat

I managed to get this snap outside before it started raining, yey!

Playsuit - ASOS
Belt - Missguided
Wedges - Matalan
Bangles - Matalan/Primark

Hello lovely ladies! In my most recent outfit post I promised I would get outside and get some shnazzy OOTD photos. However, mother nature decided to be a nuisance and the weather has been absolutely awful. Seriously, you would think I was back home in the UK at the moment and not in Australia. With that being said, getting outside in the natural sunlight has been somewhat impossible meaning yet again these outfit pictures aren't the best. They were taken inside using a flash but I hope you can still get the jist. I mentioned in my 'Pocahontas Playsuit' post here that I had recently bought a couple of playsuits from ASOS. Well, this beautiful crochet number was one of them. I can't tell you how much I love this playsuit. The first thing I love is the colour as it is very bright and perfect for summer. This was also available in yellow on the ASOS website but I personally loved this colbat blue shade as I thought it would work better with my blonde hair and blue eyes. I also love the crochet detailing along the bust and the open back. The only thing I dislike about this playsuit is how easily it creases. It is made from a silk type material and although it feels lovely on the skin and is very comfortable, it creases at the slightest movement. Oh well, I guess it's just something I'll have to deal with and hope people don't think I've lost my iron. haha! I decided to pair it with a thin tan waist belt and tan wedges in the above pictures as I think anything tan works well with blue. The wedges were an absolute bargain of around £12.00 and I wear them all the time. Good old Matalan providing me with another gem. As you can see from the photos, I just shoved my hair on top of my head and left it. Sometimes I like that messy look as it helps give the outfit a more casual feel. Although I would definitely wear this on a night out as well with huge heels and big backcombed hair. I couldn't find this exact playsuit on the ASOS website but they are currently having a huge sale with upto 50% off some items so if you want to have a look at that you can do so here.

What do you think of playsuits? Do you love them as much as me?

Lots of Love,

Massive Clothing Haul - Confessions of a Shopaholic

Hey Ladies! If you read my collective beauty haul yesterday, you will know I said I was going to do a clothing haul too. I have bought so many clothes lately its an actual JOKE. Like I said in my beauty haul, I'm going to Australia next week and I always feel like I need new things when I go away. I realise that I probably don't need anything but it makes me feel good and shopping really is one of my favourite things to do. I have to say before you think 'woah, she must of spent a bomb' that I didn't just go out and buy all of this in one day. I have bought these items over the past few weeks after I decided I was going to Australia. I also made quite a lot of money on ebay, about £300 precisely, so that went towards all the things I've been buying. I feel as though I've bought some real staple items lately that I've been meaning to get for ages. I tried to take pictures of everything but a few bits and bobs are in the wash and other things have been delivered to my home address in the Lake District ready to pack. I also won a Missguided Twitter competition meaning the cream dress pictured was a freebie, yey! As well as going for an actual shopping spree, I am actually obsessed with online shopping. I sometimes don't feel like I'm spending money when I'm shopping online. All I have to do is log in with my email address, put in my security code and wallah, I have some lovely new clothes on their way to me. I think I should be banned from the internet, it is totally lethal for a compulsive shopper like me. Anyway, enough of my blabbering. Here are the things I've bought.

New Look

River Island

Marks & Spencers

H&M

Missguided

Republic - (To see this better have a look at my 'New Favourite Dress' post here).

Primark

Ebay

Accessories
Travel Make-up Bag - Primark, Tan Pumps - Marks & Spencers, Black Sandals - Primark, Cream Handbag - Marks & Spencers

So there we have it, all of the pretty clothes I've bought lately. I hope you enjoyed this post as it has taken me AGES to do. Uploading all these pictures and making them big and clear is fairly time consuming. I can't actually believe that on top of all this I have three more things in the wash and four more things being delivered home. I guess I'll be doing another haul over the weekend. I really am a shopaholic if you hadn't already noticed. It's been so nice to have a bit of money to spend lately and my family have bought me a few things for easter/leaving presents. All in all I am extremely happy with everything I've got and I hope you like it all too.

P.s - If any of you have Twitter, feel free to follow me here. I've been really enjoying chatting and getting to know other bloggers on their lately.

Lots of Love,

My New Favourite Dress - Republic Aztec Maxi

Hey Lovelies. While I was at home last week, I was trawling through every clothing website going in the hope of finding some lovely new summer items to spice up my drab winter wardrobe. As you all probably know by now, I go to Australia next month so this has made me want to buy summery clothes even more than I already did. Whilst looking on the Republic website, this Crafted Mullet Maxi Dress really caught my eye. It is short and the front and gradually gets longer at the back. It has cute rope straps that cross over at the back, with a matching rope belt around the waist. I have seen a lot of dresses/skirts in this style at the moment and I think it is such a pretty trend. I am also a huge fan of Aztec/Tribal print so throw the two together and it's a must-have in my Summer wardrobe.
Anyway, I hesitated for a while as I am massively skint but as soon as I clicked off the website, I couldn't stop thinking about it and kept toying with the idea of buying it. I always try and justify my spends so I kept telling myself 'just get it, it will look perfect in Oz'. I dithered around for a few more days and when I returned to Newcastle I showed my boyfriend it to get his opinion. Straight away, he said he loved it and that he'd buy me it. I was over the moon as it was a very unexpected treat. Obviously, I jumped at the chance and popped the dress into my online shopping bag with no hesitation. To be honest, I know I would of bought it no matter what, but not having to spend my own money on it was a brucey bonus.
The dress arrived today, three days after ordering, which was pretty quick. When I opened the parcel it was love at first sight and before I even tried it on, I knew it was going to fit and look absolutely lovely. I am so glad I ordered this dress, it is gorgeous. I'm a huge fan of maxi dresses as they are easy to throw on and create the perfect summer look. I believe you can look effortlessly stylish in a maxi dress. Plus, they can be dressed up or down which is an added bonus. I love items that are versatile and maxi dresses are definitely one of them items. In the pictures above, I quickly threw on my New Look tan wedges which I think work well for a casual look. I would pair it with sandals and some chunky wooden bangles for day wear. For an evening look, I would swap the black rope belt for a thin tan waist belt and my super high tan Kurt Geiger heels. Jewellery wise, I would probably go for gold bangles and a chunky ring. I can think of so many ways I would wear this and I'm sure it will feature in plenty of OOTD and OOTN posts while I'm in Australia.
This dress cost £36.00 which I think is very reasonable for a dress I know I will get a lot of wear out of. It is still available of the Republic website here if any of you love it as much as I do and would like to snap it up. I would love to get another dress and a skirt in this style before I go away. I have my eye on a few from River Island and Missguided and It is definitely a trend I can see myself wearing a lot in the summer months.

Do you like this new take on a maxi dress? Do you have your eye on anything similair?
Also, I have just put a few things on my Ebay page so if any of you are interested, feel free to have a look here.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday. I've come down with a horrible cold so Im going to snuggle on the sofa watching Mary's Bottom Line and Celebrity Juice with a cup of tea. On a brighter note, I won a Missguided dress on Twitter today. I never win anything so it was a lovely surprise when they tweeted me saying I'd won their style comp.

Lots of Love,
