Dress - Chi Chi* - Link // Shoes - Matalan

Before I get in to todays post I just want to take this opportunity to say a humongous thank you to every single one of you who took the time to read and leave lovely comments on my Anxiety & Panic Attacks post. The feedback I’ve received in the form of comments, tweets and emails has been overwhelming so thank you very much. I was absolutely terrified to publish that post (physically shaking on the sofa whilst my boyfriend said ‘just do it Kayleigh’), so to receive such a great reaction and to know it’s helped a few people means the world to me.

Anyway, before I turn all soppy on you, let me tell you about a lovely dress I was recently sent from Chi Chi. I’ve actually blogged about the brand in the past here after falling head over heels in love with their Regina dress. With this being said, you can imagine my excitement when I was asked if I’d like to review something else from their website. Of course I said yes and began browsing through all of the lovely dresses. I was immediately drawn to the Tatiana dress (I love that the dresses have names) which I’m wearing in the photos above as I thought it would be perfect to wear to a christening I’m attending later this year. I think this dress got both the glam and elegant criteria’s I look for in a christening outfit spot on. The knee length pencil style is very classy while the lace overlay and sheer panel at the top of the dress prevents it from being boring and too formal. I'd say the cute little ribbon at the back is my favourite part of this dress - its such a fun and pretty detail and the bust area is padded meaning you can wear it without a bra and not have to worry about your bra straps being on show. The dress is an off-white/beige colour so I decided to pair is with some classic nude court shoes which again work with the elegant style I was going for.

As I’m wearing this to a christening I haven’t actually worn it out of the house yet. I took some photos wearing it so I could share it with you guys (as you do) and now I’m looking at the photos I’ve decided I'm definitely going to wear my hair up in a bun for the christening and add a splash of red lipstick. I think a pop of colour on my lips will bring the look together nicely and wearing my hair up in a bun with show off the lace detail around the top of the dress. I just can't wait to wear it now!

If you’re after a pretty dress to wear for an upcoming special occasion, I’d really recommend checking out the Chi Chi website. They have a great range of super glam dresses that will ensure you stand out from the crowd!

Do you like my Tatiana dress?

Lots of Love,

Hi Ladies! I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend so far. I went out for a meal and drinks with my boyfriend, friend and her boyfriend last night and I thought I'd show you all what I wore. If you follow me on Instagram (kayleighjcouture) or Twitter (@k_leexjx) you might of seen me ranting and raving about how beautiful my new dress is and here it is in all its glory. Its from clothing website Chi Chi, a fabulous website that stocks a range of stunning women's clothing. All of their stock is very glamorous so if you're after a new party dress or something for a special occasion, I can't recommend it enough. The dress I've got is the Regina Dress* and its absolutely beautiful - seriously, the photos don't do it justice.

As soon as it arrived for me in the post, I was blown away by how pretty it is. The embellishment of flowers and pearls around the neckline takes it from a plain black bodycon dress and turns it into something really special. The detail and intricacy thats gone into desigining the dress is just wonderful and I love how the embellishment is spread right across the chest and sleeves, so pretty! It fits like an absolute glove too - the material is quite a clingy one but I found it sucked me in and was really flattering. Lets say it emphasiseed my good curves and hid any bits I'm not too keen on. I decided to pair it with my trusty Primark heels and a coral clutch bag from New Look to bring out the colours in the beading. I didn't need to wear any jewellery (except my Michael Kors watch) as the dress did all the talking on its own.

I seriously love this dress and I'd go as far as saying its the nicest dress I've ever owned, I really am in love with it. I can't wait to wear it again, I think it will be perfect on my upcoming holiday to Portugal as the bright beading gives it a nice pop of summer colour.

What do you think of this dress? Have you ever shopped at Chi Chi? You can find their website here, I'm sure you'll love it just as much as I do!

Lots of Love,

My NYE Outfit | River Island Midi-Dress

Hi Ladies! I hope you are all well. Today was my first day back at work after 11 days off and I'm sure like many of you, I'm not feeling too great about it. Isn't that first week back at work after the Christmas period always the most depressing? I feel as though I have no holidays or occasions to look forward to now for ages but I guess that means I can spend more time concentrating on my blog which is always a good thing. I also signed up to the gym and called the doctors today to finally go and see someone about my anxiety problems so although being back at work is poopy, I tried to turn it into a positive by making a start on some of the resolutions I mentioned in my last post. 'New year, new me' and all that malarky.

I also thought I would show you all my new dress that I wore on New Years Eve as I absolutely love it. I originally had something different to wear but I decided against it at the last minute and made a mad dash into town to try and find something else. I always find the likes of Topshop, River Island and Miss Selfridge good 'go-to' places where you can almost always guarantee there will be at least one nice item. With this being said, the first place I headed to was River Island, purely because I knew they had some lovely midi dresses in there after seeing my friend Zoe wearing one on a night out together the weekend before. She had picked up a lovely burgundy and black aztec print one and as soon as I saw it on her, I knew I had to have one. So whilst having a browse, I spotted this black and cream version and decided it would be perfect for my NYE plans.

What I love the most about it is how ladylike it looks. It has long sleeves and is past the knee in length so it is demure and classy but still glamorous at the same time. I've never worn a 'midi' dress before, for fear of looking a bit frumpy or old fashioned but my opinion on them has been well and truly changed. It was nice to wear something that little bit longer and although it is still tight fitting and clings to every lump and bump (suck it in!), I loved how it looked. It required no accessories because of the jazzy print and paired with my black Primark heels, simple hair and a red lip, it was an effortless party look. Its still available on the River Island website here if you fancy treating yourself. I also think its the perfect dress for a wedding, christening or family party so I know I will be getting lots of wear out of it.

Do you like midi-dresses? What did you wear on NYE?

Lots of Love,

OOTN | Lavish Alice LBD

Dress - Lavish Alice*
Shoes - Primark
Belt - Primark

Hi Ladies! I hope your are all well and ready for the arrival of Santa in TWO DAYS.. Oh yeah! I am so excited its actually unbelievable, you would never know I'm twenty two, I still act like an excitable two year old at Christmas time. Anyway, I always like to get dressed up at this time of year, it's a must in my opinion. It's that one time of year where you can get totally glam and really go all out with nice dresses, hair and makeup. Well last night my Christmas celebrations well and truly began after finishing work on Friday for eleven whole days (bliss!) I went out to a Japanese restaurant and some pubs with my boyfriend and his parents so I wanted to wear something that was appropriate for a night out with the rents but also something that would look glamorous. I decided to wear a classic LBD as lets face it, we all have one and you can't really go wrong with them. They are definitely a staple wardrobe item that every girl should own.

I decided to pop on this dress I was recently sent from Lavish Alice and I absolutely love it. It isn't the most glitzy dress in the world but that's what I love about it - it's simple and classy yet glam all at the same time. I found the peplum style very flattering and gems on the sleeves and peter pan collar added a nice twist to a standard black dress. I decided to pop a patent belt around the top of the peplum to cinch my waist in, some black heels and it gave the dress the perfect finishing touches it needed. I decided to keep it simple with jewellery so I just wore my DKNY watch, pandora bracelet and ring which I wear on a daily basis anyway. I love these kind of dresses that are effortless to wear and don't need load of accessories to make them look nice.

I will certainly be buying a few items from the Lavish Alice website here as they have such a nice selection of glamorous and affordable dresses. They currently have a sale on too so I've been eyeing up a few of their printed midi-dresses and glitzy sequin dresses and skirts. I may even place a cheeky order before New Year's Eve. After all - who can resist a bargain?

Have you ever ordered from Lavish Alice? Do you like wearing dresses at this time of year?

P.S - I have no idea why I look like casper in that last photo, I'm pretty sure it was the flash. I know I'm pale but I'm not that pale - crikey!

Lots of Love,

OOTD | Fathers Day Florals

Dress – H&M
Blazer – H&M
Belt – Primark
Boots – Dotti
Ring – Primark
Sunglasses - Primark
Watch – DKNY

Hey Ladies. I hope you are all well and have had a great weekend. I've had a lovely weekend spending some quality time with my family and if you are a bit confused by the title of this post, today is Fathers Day in Australia. I've never really understood why countries have different days for things like Fathers Day but none the less it was lovely to be able to spend it with my dad here in Australia.

Yesterday we decided to go out for some lunch, drinks and early Fathers Day celebrations and the outfit above is what I wore. We didn't go anywhere too fancy but I still wanted to make a bit of an effort so I thought this cute little dress with a blazer and ankle boots would work well. If you read my last outfit post you will know I have been loving these boots lately as I think they go with pretty much any outfit and make cute girly dresses like this look a bit more edgy.

I received the dress as a gift from my dad and step mum a couple of months ago but I have never got round to wearing it until now. At first I thought I couldn't pull it off as it was a bit too grown up for me but as soon as I added a belt, blazer and boots, I loved it.

I love the bold print on the dress as it makes a statement without being too over the top and the blue and white colour scheme worked perfectly with this chunky brown belt. The material is also very lightweight making it comfortable to wear and the slits up the sleeves give a nice additional twist. I also think it would be the perfect wedding or christening outfit paired with some heels and a thinner belt.

Although I did feel very grown up and slightly out of my usual comfort zone in this outfit, I liked how it looked sophisticated yet cool at the time. However, I'm glad I decided to wear it after leaving it sat in my wardrobe for a couple of months and it has motivated me to wear more outfits that I wouldn't typically wear.

Do you ever get scared to wear clothes that aren't your typical style?

Lots of Love,

Weekend Outfits | Fun in the Sun

Maxi - Primark
Crochet Waistcoat - New Look
Nails - Models Own 'Hedonist'

Stripey Dress - Primark
Belt - Missguided

So Mature!

Hey Ladies! I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend. The weather has been amazing in Oz so I thought I'd shade a couple of outfits I've been wearing. Considering its the middle of winter here in Australia, I really can't complain with temperatures in the mid 20s. I hope the weather has perked up in the UK, I hear its been terrible lately. Typical English summer. If you follow me on Instagram (kayleighjcouture) you may know that me and my boyfriend took my two year old brother out to the park and to feed the ducks yesterday. We had the best day, well apart form being chased by a huge herd of geese (yes, I almost pooed my pants!). Apart from this slight mishap we had so much fun and my brother had a whale of a time. He even woke up this morning shouting 'Kayleigh, Matt.. Take me to the ducks!' haha SO cute. As you can see, I wore two outfits. First being this gorgeous maxi dress from Primark and the second being this cute little stripy tunic, also from Primark. Both of these dresses were absolute steals. I believe the maxi was £10.00 and the stripy dress was £5.00. Good old Primark, it never lets me down. When we got home from the park/ducks we sunbathed and played football in the garden so I decided a maxi dress wasn't the most appropriate attire. Me and the boyf also decided we would have a handstand competition (see above) - because we are obviously so mature! My little brother found it highly amusing anyway. I'd also like to point out that these photos were taken and edited on my iPhone so I apologise if the quality isn't as great as my normal outfit posts. To be honest, I wasn't really planning on taking any blog pics so it was a bit spur of the moment. However, I must admit I'm quite impressed with the quality of the pictures, not bad for a phone camera in my opinion.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend. Its my little brothers 3rd birthday tomorrow, the boy and I have bought him an electric quad bike so I can't wait to see his face when he opens it. I suspect there will be lots of excitement in the Johnson household. What are you getting up to this weekend?

Lots of Love,
