New Muji Storage

Hi Ladies! I hope you are all having a fab weekend. I'm not very well, my IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) has been playing up lately so my stomach is not in the best of states. BOO. However, I am attempting to go out tonight for my friends birthday so fingers crossed I'm feeling more human later. My lovely boyfriend is currently in town getting me some tablets, bless him.

Anyway, sob story over I wanted to share this cute acrylic storage I ordered from Muji recently. Makeup storage is something I have always had trouble with as I have far too much stuff and not enough places to store it. My dressing table is fairly small with one drawer and as that is already over-flowing with hair and tanning products I had nowhere to store my makeup. After storing it in a huge box for a couple of months, it became too messy and too hard to find anything so I had to look for a more organised alternative.

With this being said, I decided to dip my toes into the acrylic storage ocean and ordered myself a six drawer storage box from Muji. I ordered it at the start of this year and absolutely love it. I wrote a full review on the drawers here if you want to have a read. It organises my makeup into individual compartments and makes it easy for me to find specific colours. It looks pretty too which is obviously an added bonus. However, since the start of this year I have accumulated more and more products meaning the drawers just aren't big enough anymore. My god I sound like a makeup manic. My face products still fit nicely as I tend to use the same products and stick with them but my lip products are a whole new story. My lip collection is rather ridiculous and one drawer for lipsticks just wasn't cutting it anymore. I also found that mascaras, eyeliners, lip and brow pencils didn't have any place in the drawers so I decided I needed a new method for storing them.

This is when I popped on over to the Muji website again to find some additional storage. I've always liked the idea of having my high-end lipsticks out on display so I began looking for a storage solution. This is when I spotted the acrylic 'Desk Pot' which is essentially a rectangular box with three individual sections. I couldn't gage what size it was by looking at the photo online but for £4.95 I thought it was a bit of a bargain and ordered it anyway. I also ordered an acrylic 'Pen Pot' as I thought it would be handy for popping my mascaras and pencils in. This was only £1.95 so I really couldn't complain for that price.

When they arrived I must admit they were much smaller than I thought they would be. At first I was slightly concerned I wouldn't be able to fit much in them but they are obviously pretty deceiving as I managed to squeeze six lipsticks in to each container. I  decided to pop my MAC, Illamasqua and Inglot lipsticks into this container as they are the most expensive ones I own and the ones I would like to see staring up at me from my dressing table. (How sad?) As for the pen pot, it is pretty small but ideal for sticking pencils in. I also popped a couple of mascaras in there too so they will be easy to grab when getting ready. I really want to find a wider version of this pot to store my brushes in too as I'm currently using a mosaic one from TKMAXX that I'm not a huge fan of.

Overall, I really love my new set up. As you can see from the last picture it looks pretty neat and tidy. My only gripe now is my actual dressing table. Its black and small and just generally naff. I'm definitely upgrading to a huge white one with lots of drawers as soon as I have a job. If you want to treat youself to any of this Muji loveliness you can find it all on their website here and here.

How do you store your makeup? Are you a fan of acrylic storage?

Have a great weekend guys!

Lots of Love,

Lash Saviour | Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara - £9.99 - Link

Hey Ladies! My second Revlon review in two days, can you tell I'm a fan? ;) I bought this product a couple of months ago after running out of my beloved Blink & Go mascara and have only recently come to the end of the tube. I had a voucher to get a free product from Revlon so I decided that since I needed one, I would buy a new mascara. I had never tried a Revlon mascara before but the packaging and name of this product really appealed to me. I love the green and silver exterior and the brush looked big and fluffy which is what I look for as I find they create more volume.

If you follow me on Instagram (@kayleighjcouture), you will know that I recently got semi-permanent eyelash extensions and although I loved them at first, they began to really irritate my eyes and in the end I hated them. With this being said, I would sit and pick at my lashes in the hope the false ones would come off. BAD MOVE Kayleigh, bad move. I ended up pulling half of my natural eyelashes out and was left with bald patches (see 'before' picture). I was absolutely gutted I hadn't just waited to get them taken off professionally but I can't even begin to tell you how much they were irritating my eyes. The glue felt clumpy, the lashes were pointing in five thousand different directions and I hated the fact I couldn't wear mascara. I really like the look of mascara on lashes as it opens and defines the eyes so the fact I couldn't wear it bugged me. Anyway, lesson learnt and I shall not be getting lash extensions ever again.

Anyway, as my lashes were looking far from attractive I needed a mascara that really lengthened and separated the lashes I did have left. This is when I realised how amazing this mascara is. As you can see from the before and after photos above, my lashes were totally transformed after applying this product. The brush is the perfect size to cover all of my lashes, they instantly looked thicker, longer and the bald patches seemed to dissapear. I was pretty amazed to see what a difference this made to my eyes and it certainly helped disguise my mangled lashes. I feel ten times more confident when wearing this on my eyes and it stays put all day. The shade I bought was 'Blackened Brown' but when I was buying it I thought I'd picked up the standard black. I wasn't too bothered though as this shade made my lashes look super dark.

Thankfully, since I took the above pictures a couple of weeks ago, my lashes have almost grown back. However, as I have lost lashes when I was younger, I have noticed they have grown much quicker whilst using this mascara. As it is called 'grow luscious', I am presuming there is an ingredients in there that helps stimulate growth? I have seen a visible improvement in my lashes whilst using this but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me.

The only bad thing I would say about this mascara is that it is quite flaky and will crumble off the lashes pretty easily. However, this is something I am willing to deal with as my lashes look long, volumised and defined when wearing this mascara. If you don't like big brushes, thick mascara and lashes then this probably isn't for you but I officially love it. Nothing makes me feel better than huge glamorous eyelashes! Yey!

P.S - Sorry for the bad quality before and after photos. It was too difficult to take a picture of my own eye with a huge SLR so these are from my Iphone. Apologies.

Have you tried this mascara or any others from Revlon?
What do you think of eyelash extensions?

Lots of Love,

Blink & Go Mascara Review

I have been meaning to do this review ever since I received this product in my December Glossybox. When I first saw the product, I had never heard of 'Blink & Go' but I loved the cool packaging and decided to do a bit of research online. Blink & Go is part of the Nouveau group brand which also includes brands such as 'HD Brows'. After trailing through their website, it seems Blink & Go mainly focus on lashes hence their product name. They also offer a huge range of the most amazing false eyelashes I have ever seen. The lashes retail at £8.95 and I am planning on buying a couple of pairs to show you all in a review. This full-size mascara retails on the website at £12.95 so the fact I got it in my Glossybox along with 4 other products for the same price is amazing. You can find the website along with the Blink & Go products here

I have been using this mascara almost every day since I received it back in December and it has fast become one of the best I have ever used. I am a bit of a mascara whore, meaning I'm constantly buying, trying and never being 100% happy with any I have used. I mean, theres a few I would re-purchase such as Loreal or Rimmel Accelerator lashes, but I still found myself looking for something even better. Finally, I have found a mascara that I wouldn't think twice about re-purchasing. It is a very dark black colour, which I love and I find the wand is just the right size to coat all of my lashes quickly. The wand is relatively thin which is a change for me. I normally go for those huge fat wands as I always thought they worked better. I was definitely wrong as this mascara lengthens, curls and coats them perfectly. I also find that a thinner wand can get to smaller lashes in the corner of my eye very efficiently. This mascara doesn't clump my eyelashes and as it is waterproof it has great staying powder. I can put this on in the morning and not have to worry about it running or smudging. I have relatively rubbish natural eyelashes but this mascara makes me feel confident that they look half-decent, without having to stick a pair of falsies on.

Overall, I absolutely love this. I hope you can get an idea of how long this makes my lashes look from the pictures above. I think this product is 100% worth the £12.95 price tag. Yes, it is quite expensive but the quality is second to none and I have been using this almost every day for 2 months and still haven't ran out.

Have you ever tried this product? What's your favourite mascara?

Lots of Love,

Kayleigh..

xXx.

February Favourites

My first ever favourites post. I can't believe I haven't got around to doing one of these yet because I love reading them. Basically, the idea is to show a selection of products you've been loving/using most over the past month. So here is what I have been loving lately:

Garnier Mineral Ultra Dry Deodorant - This may seem like the most boring, silly thing to put in a favourites post as surely a deodorant is just a deodorant? Not this one. This is the most gorgeous smelling, long-lasting deodorant I have ever used. I have used this everyday throughout Feb and I am nowhere near the bottom of the can. I never thought I would find a deodorant I would want to 're-purchase' as I usually just grab the first one I see. However, I will definitely be going back to Superdrug for this when my can finally runs out.

St.Tropez Instant wash-off tan - This tan gives me a lovely golden brown colour and is easy to apply. The thing I like most about this is the fact it is instant. If I have forgot to do my tan before a night out, I can spray this on and still have a tanned glow to my skin. It is very easy to apply too. Spray onto the skin, rub it in with my tanning mitt and wallah, hello tan. I will be doing a full review with pictures of this soon so I won't say too much.

Juicy Couture 'Viva La Juicy' Perfume - I just had to include this in my favourites because it is the most gorgeous perfume ever. My blogs name is actually based on my love of Juicy Couture perfumes. I will be extremely gutted when I run out of this as it is very expensive and I normally only get expensive perfumes for birthdays/christmas. It has a sweet smell, which is my favourite kind, but it isn't overpowering. I also LOVE  the bottle. Anything with a big pink bow gets my vote straight away.

Aussie Dual Personality Heat Protection & Leave-In Spray - I love all of the Aussie hair care range as they smell lovely and actually work. I bought this in February as I needed a good heat protector to use with my GHDs. I have been using it most days since and it seems to be working. My hairdresser also told me Aussie is one of the best high-street brands as they don't contain harsh chemicals like some other high-street brands. This product leaves my hair smelling gorgeous and feeling soft. Again, I will go into more depth in a full review soon.

Sigma Kabuki Brushes - I did a post on these brushes I got for christmas a while ago now and I have been using them religiously ever since. The flat top kabuki is great for buffing my liquid foundation into the skin and the Angled kabuki is great for contouring. These brushes are fast becoming my favourites and are comparable in quality to MAC for half the price.

MAC 'Please Me' Lipstick - If you read my 'MAC Haul' post, you will see that I recently bought this lipstick. Since then, I have been reaching for it most days. It is a gorgeous pink shade that can be worn  everyday or in the evenings. As it is a matte formula, it is highly pigmented and the colour you see in the tube is a true reflection of the colour when applied to the lips.

Sleek Pout Polish in the shade 'Powder Pink' - I mentioned this product in my Sleek Haul a while ago and I am still loving it. It is a lip-conditioner that moisturises the lips and adds a lovely pink colour at the same time. I also love how shiny it looks on the lips. It gives a high-shine effect without the usual stickiness from a normal lipgloss. Perfect.

Blink & Go Mascara - I received this in my January Glossybox and I love it. It is one of the best mascaras I have ever used and I can't thank Glossybox enough for introducing me to it. Again, I am going to do a full review with pictures so I won't say too much but it is amazing and ranks top of my February favourites list.

Collection 2000 Extreme 24-hour eyeliner - Considering this is such a cheap product, it works brilliantly. This pen style eyeliner is so easy to use it is fool-proof. I am a bit clumsy when it comes to applying liquid liner but this makes the job so much easier. It is a deep, dark black and lasts all day.

MAC 'Woodwinked' eyeshadow - I think this eyeshadow will be featured in every months favourites post. It is my all time favourite eyeshadow and as you can see I have nearly run out. Again, expect a full review soon. All I will say for now is that this is the most beautiful golden/brown shade and it looks amazing with my blue eyes. LOVE it.

NARS 'Laguna' Bronzer - Again, I think this will have its place in my favourites category every month. It is the nicest bronzer I have ever come across and it gives my skin a lovely 'glow' without making me look orange. It is pricey but I will re-purchase this over and over again.

I hope you enjoyed reading my first favourites post. It was fun picking out my favourite products from the last month and I am definitely going to make my monthly favourites a regular post every month.

Which products made it into your February favourites?

Lots of Love,

Kayleigh..

xXx.
