My Favourite Instagram Accounts #1

Out of all my social networking sites, Instagram is the one I spend the most time on. Yes, its an unhealthy obsession but I'm a very visual / creative person so being able to see other peoples pretty images and create my own is an absolute joy. With this being said, I thought it was about time I shared some of my favourite accounts - the accounts I always go back to time and time again to see if they've shared another fabulous photo or video. I follow over 300 instagram accounts so I'll be doing a few of these posts but for now, here's five instagram accounts you should all be following ...

The Body Coach
I'm not sure how I came across Joe's instagram account but as I'm in to healthy eating, as soon as I found it, I was hooked. He's a personal trainer that creates short videos called 'Lean in 15' where he shows how he cooks quick and healthy meals. Other than being incredibly funny to watch (he likes to wind up his neighbours in Surbiton) his recipes are so easy to follow and super tasty. I recently made his turkey burgers and they were so yummy, they've now become a regular meal I like to eat. I started following Joe when he had a few thousand followers and he now has over 70K so its quite clear people love watching his videos as much as I do!

Sarah Ashcroft
I don't follow a great deal of fashion bloggers as I'm more of a beauty girl but I met Sarah back in September on a work trip to Brighton and ever since, I've been in love with her Instagram account. She writes the fashion blog 'That Pommie Girl' where she posts a variety of super stylish looks and what I love about her the most is that the things she wears are accessible to the every day girl and easy to wear - I often see something she's wearing and want to go and buy it instead of thinking 'I couldn't pull that off' like I do when I see some other fashion posts. She recently had her eyebrows tattooed too and I'm just a tad jealous - totally flawless!

Olivia Naylor MUA
Olivia is a Manchester based makeup artist who has done makeup for some stunning celebs including Michelle Keegan. I actually found her account after Michelle tagged her in a post where her makeup looked completely flawless. I instantly headed over to Olivia's account to see which products she'd used to create Michelle's look and its safe to say, I left her account with a wish list as long as my arm and a MAC order placed. As well as being fantastic at makeup, she also does the best and most natural looking eyebrow tattooing I've ever seen. I definitely want to book an appointment with her to get mine done as soon as I have some spare cash. If you're Manchester based and looking for a makeup artist / eyebrow tattooist, Olivia is your girl!

Pink Pixie Doll
I've been following Millie since I first started blogging as she's one of the first bloggers I discovered and followed when I was first starting out. What I love so much about Millie's instagram (and blog) is how pretty and whimsical everything looks. She has a consistent look to her images as they're all full of pastel tones, pretty things like cakes, shoes and lipsticks and they're always bright and clear. She got married in the Summer and seeing the photos of her wedding on Instagram was amazing - it looked like a picture perfect day. She always makes me want to go shopping too as she often posts photos of new beauty collections so if you want to know what's new in the beauty world, following Millie is a must.

emshelx
Oh I do love Em, she's one of my best blogging gals! I've mentioned how much I love her blog in my favourite bloggers post here but I also love her instagram account. She's currently travelling around Canada / the states and seeing her photos of beautiful buildings, beaches and yummy food make me more than a little jealous. I just love how well thought out Em's images are - they're always taken from cool angles and have perfectly blurred out backgrounds. She also wears fab outfits and has persuaded me to buy something on more than one occasion. She's just a beaut!

These are just a selection of the fab instagram accounts I follow so I'm planning to do more of these 'share the love' style posts in the future. I hope you've found some new accounts to follow and don't forget to follow me too (shameless plug!) @kayleighjcouture.

Rimmel Provocalips | Review & Swatches

When Rimmel released their now famous 'Apocalips' lip lacquers, I was more than a little bit excited. After seeing all the hype surrounding them, I just couldn't resist buying a handful of them when they were released. I did a full review of them here and its safe to say, it was love at first swatch. With this being said, I was very excited to hear about Rimmel's latest lip offering 'Provocalips' - another range of liquid lipsticks that claim to be kiss proof, transfer proof and fool proof. Yep, big claims from Rimmel so I was excited to see if they lived up to them. Lets face it, who doesn't love a long lasting lip product? Its always a pain having to re-apply lipstick every time food and drink passes my lips so I was welcoming this transfer proof product with open arms.

As I mentioned, much like the Apocalips, Provocalips are a liquid lipstick that are applied directly to the lips with a doe foot applicator. However, unlike Apocalips, they're a double ended product and as well as the liquid lipstick, they also come with a lock and shine topcoat to seal the colour and ensure it lasts all day. I have to be honest when I say I'm not blown away by the packaging as I do find the lip print slightly cheap looking but other than that, I really like the two step colour and seal concept as its different to any other lip products in my collection.

 photo RimmelProvocalipsReview2_zpsfb901aea.jpg photo RimmelProvocalipsReview3_zpsbce4b314.jpg

The liquid itself is fairly running to apply and can get a little messy but with a steady hand, I managed to apply it without looking like a clown and was amazed at just how pigmented the colour is. With only one swipe, I had full opaque coverage. A couple of minutes after application the liquid dries and begins to feel a little drying but that's to be expected with any kind of liquid / long-lasting formula so I didn't mind too much. However, one thing I would say is that its important to exfoliate the lips before using this product because if you don't, they will show up every dry patch. Thankfully, when the top coat is applied, it gets rid of the dry feeling and also makes the lips slightly glossy which I love.

The three shades I have are I'll Call You, a mid-tone dusky pink with slight purple undertones, Kiss Me You Fool, a bright postbox red and Play With Fire, a deep wine shade. My favourite of the three is definitely Play With Fire as its just perfect for this time of year and looks really striking. However, I love all three and find they're all very flattering and easy to wear shades.

My favourite thing about the Provocalips, other than their intense pigmentation, is definitely how long lasting they are. Seriously, when Rimmel said these are transfer proof, they weren't lying. When I first received them, I swatched them on the back of my arm and they just wouldn't budge - even after I scrubbed my arm in the shower. I even tweeted a photo at the time as I was just so amazed by their staying power. These are the only lip products I've ever used that have lasted all day or all night without the need for a touch up, even after eating and drinking. I wore one of these to the Christmas markets over the weekend and even after stuffing my face with various food and drink, my lipstick was still in tact. Amazing!

Overall, these are a fabulous product and I'd recommend giving them a try if you like a bold lip but struggle to find lipsticks that are long lasting. For only £6.99 too, they're a bit of a bargain! You can find them at Boots and they're currently on a 3 for 2 offer. Seriously worth a try!

Have you tried the Rimmel Provocalips? Are you a fan?

Lots of love,

The Everyday Jewellery | ft Michael Kors & Pandora

One question I often get asked on Instagram or even if I'm just out and about is 'where's your
ring from?' or 'Is that a Michael Kors watch?'. With this being said, I thought I'd put together a little post showcasing all of my favourite high-end jewellery that I wear on a regular basis, just in case you were interested in knowing where any of them are from. I personally think they're all gorgeous pieces and they may even give you some Christmas gift inspo if you're struggling for ideas.

 photo MyEveryDayJewelleryCollection2_zps8d43c5ea.jpg photo MyEveryDayJewelleryCollection3_zps5b3678f7.jpg

First up are my two watches from Michael Kors and Daniel Wellington. I got my Michael Kors watch for Christmas a couple of years ago and it hasn't left my wrist since. I wear it every single day, day and night, without fail. I'm a total sucker for all things rose gold and I love the chunky masculine design. These watches aren't cheap but they're definitely worth it. The Daniel Wellington Sheffield watch is a recent addition to my jewellery wardrobe but its definitely a very welcome one. Again, it has rose gold detailing which I just LOVE but compared with the Michael Kors watch, this one is more ladylike and dainty. Its very flat, feels super lightweight on my arm and I love the leather strap. I think this one is better for the evening when I'm wearing a pretty dress! You can actually get 15% off Daniel Wellington watches with my code 'couturegirl' - add it to your Christmas list ladies!

 photo MyEveryDayJewelleryCollection6_zps462c8bb5.jpg

Next up are two bracelets that I also wear every day without fail. I wear my silver Pandora charm bracelet on my left arm and my dainty Swarovski bolt micro bracelet on my right. I never take these bracelets off - even when I'm in the shower or in bed, they're on my wrist. I got the Pandora bracelet when they were the big trend a few years ago and I've loved collecting charms for it ever since. I love that all the charms mean something to me or represent a time in my life.

I got the Swarovski bracelet this Summer as a birthday present from one of my best friends and I just love how simple and elegant it is. I don't normally like wearing too much jewellery together but this one is so dainty and fine that I can get away with wearing it on a daily basis. Again, its rose gold, need I say more?

 photo MyEveryDayJewelleryCollection5_zps18d51db5.jpg

Another piece of jewellery I wear every day is my Tiffany & Co necklace - I got this as a Christmas gift from my dad last year and again, I've worn it every day since I got it. I always wanted to own something from Tiffany (those pretty blue boxes, ahhh) and I didn't own a delicate necklace I could wear every day so I thought this was a good one to go for. I love it!

 photo MyEveryDayJewelleryCollection4_zps046c10e1.jpg

Finally is my selection of Pandora rings - as you can see, I'm a big fan and currently own four of them! I obviously don't wear them all at once but I love them all equally so I tend to switch them up depending on what I fancy! I couldn't find links to the small stacking ring or the large blue toned stone ring but the other two are the feather ring which I wear on my thumb and the mother of pearl ring which is a beautiful statement piece.

Lots of love,

Outfit | Misguided Must-Haves

Misguided Must-Haves, Misguided Vanessa Coat, Missguided Carly Crepe Checked Playsuit, Missguided OOTN, Outfit, Style, Fashion

Here I am, back with another fashion post. Check me out, getting all adventurous and all that. I was off work last week (which was complete bliss - I definitely needed some down time) so I dragged my boyfriend to a local park to take these photos for me. Its safe to say the weather was not on my side and I look ridiculously windswept on the majority of these photos! However, I persevered and manage to get a few pics of what I wore.

This Missguided combo is my favourite outfit of the moment - I've worn it countless times now and I'm still not bored. The checked playsuit was a must-have as soon as I saw it on their website as I'm completely obsessed with all things checked at the moment and I love the flattering shape - its got 3/4 length sleeves which make it more winter appropriate and the material its made from is fairly thick and strudy. Paired with a thin waist belt (this one was only £1 from Primark), it makes for a stylish but comfortable look. For only £24.99 too, its a serious bargain and something I'll be wearing over and over again this season.

This tailored coat is also from Missguided and another item I've been wearing none stop recently. I was influenced to buy this after seeing the lovely Em from Em Talks looking fantastic in something similar over on her blog and I've had countless compliments since. I've always wanted to own a camel coat as I think they're such a timeless piece that can be worn over and over again with virtually any outfit. Whilst this one is probably not the best for keeping really warm throughout the Winter months (its quite thin), its one that can be dressed up or down and will instantly make any outfit look 10x more chic. I'm completely in love with it and for the price, I would urge everyone to buy it!

My boots are last season Topshop and SO comfortable - I've been wearing them almost every day as they're so easy to throw on with any outfit!

I'm really loving Missguided at the moment - I could spend all day browsing their site for fashion bargains!

Do you like these pieces?

AMAZING Beauty Box Alert | Glossybox for Harvey Nichols

Oh I do love a good limited edition beauty box. I'm not a massive lover of monthly beauty box subscriptions as I think the contents can be very hit and miss but when beauty box brands bring out a limited edition box, the contents are usually pretty damn amazing. Take Latest In Beauty for example - their 'Glamour Beauty Edit' boxes are always a big hit and amazing value for money! With this being said, when an email landed in my inbox to tell me Glossybox had teamed up with Harvey Nichols to create their latest limited edition box*, I was pretty excited. Lets face it, Harvey Nicks is a high-end establishment and I knew that the contents of the box would live up to that high-end name.

However, when the box arrived in the post, adorned with Christmassy snowflake design might I add, I was pretty shocked by just how great the contents of this box are. I think my mouth may have dropped open in shock - no word of a lie. My eye was immediately caught by some of my favourite brands including NARS, Benefit and Elemis so I couldn't wait to get stuck in and see what was in there. Here's the eleven amazing products I I found inside ...

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (full size)
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (sample size)
Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum (sample size)
Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser( sample size)
Benefit They're Real Mascara (sample size)
Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment (sample size)
OPI Avoplex Moisture Replenishing Hand Cream (full size)
NARS Satin Lip Pencil (full size)
La Coupe Coconut and Macadamia Oil (sachet)
SHOW Beauty Sheer Thermal Protect (full size)
Harvey Nichols Mini Scented Candle (full size)

I'm not going to go into great detail about all of the products in the box because this post would be ridiculously long if I did and I've not had chance to try them all yet but what I will say is, there isn't one product in this box that I wouldn't use. I've already tried some of them and I'm pretty in love with the SHOW Beauty Thermal Protect (which is worth £35 on it own) and the NARS Satin Lip Pencil (why have I never tried these until now?!).

The box is priced at £30 for subscribers of Glossybox and £35 for non-subscribers which is exceptional value for money as its contents are worth a huge £150. I think it would make the PERFECT Christmas present for any beauty lover and although I doubt there's any guys reading this, you would get some serious boyfriend/husband points if you bought your other half one of these boxes. Or why not treat your mum, sister or best friend to one? I bought my best friend a limited edition beauty box for her birthday last year and she was over the moon with it!

If you like what you see, you can register your email here and start buying your box before anyone else when it goes on sale tomorrow! I have a feeling this is going to sell like hotcakes so if you're interested, go and register right away!

Do you like the look of this box? Will you be snapping one up?

Lots of love,

Current Skincare Favourites

Current Skincare Favourites, Favourite Skincare Products, My Skincare Routine, Elemis, Alpha H Liquid Gold, Simple Skincare, Eucerin 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Fluid

My skincare routine is usually forever changing due to the amount of new products I'm trying for review purposes. However, I realised that this was doing my skin no good and decided that in order to see results from products, I need to stick to a set routine and give them a good chance to work. With this being said, I've recently been using a set group of products and been seeing great results. My skin is looking more blemish free, brighter and more even in tone than it has done in a long time. Here's a bit more info about the products I've been loving lately (I realised after I took the photos I didn't include my go-to cleanser but its the Elemis Cleansing Balm, full review here).

First up is the Eucerin 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Fluid* and I'm going to go as far as saying that this is the best micellar water I've tried to date. I've tried cleansing waters from Caudalie, REN, No.7, Bioderma, Melvita, Garnier and Loreal (plus others I've likely forgotten to list) but this one tops them all. Its a 3 in 1 solution so it cleanses the skin, removes stubborn eye makeup and tones. Whilst I wouldn't necessarily use this to remove my makeup on a regular basis, its great for getting the majority off before doing a proper cleanse. In fact, when I've used this, there's rarely any makeup left on my skin after doing a thorough cleanser with my Elemis cleansing balm - it really does do a great job at removing everything. Its also very gentle, even on my super sensitive skin. Definitely one to try.

Current Skincare Favourites, Favourite Skincare Products, My Skincare Routine, Elemis, Alpha H Liquid Gold, Simple Skincare, Eucerin 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Fluid
As I'm sure I've mentioned before, Elemis is definitely my favourite skincare brand and I've been loving lots of their products recently including the Advanced Brightening Skin Tone Serum* and the Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich*. I apply the serum after cleansing and it sinks into my skin instantly and provides a nice glow. I've definitely noticed my skin looks brighter since I started using this just over a month ago and I'm looking forward to seeing more results as time goes on. I then apply the ultra-rich moisturiser and although I was concerned it'd be too heavy for me due to its 'ultra-rich' name, that couldn't be further from the truth. Its actually very lightweight on the skin but does a seriously good job at moisturising. Much like the serum, it sinks into my skin instantly but leaves it feeling plump and soft as a babies bum. Elemis products are expensive but the price is reflected in the amazing quality of the products and their Christmas gift sets are usually great value and perfect to buy for yourself, mum, sister or nan as Elemis caters for all skin types, problems and ages.

I tend to use the Elemis moisturiser mentioned above in the evenings, purely because I want it to last longer and I like to give my skin more of a pamper before bed than I do in the mornings. With this being said, my morning moisturiser of choice for the past few weeks has been the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating moisturiser* purely because its nice and light and makes a nice base for makeup. I also find that Simple is a safe choice when it comes to skincare because as the name states, it has really simple ingredients and never upsets my  skin.

Finally, I've been using Alpha H Liquid Gold a couple of times a week in an attempt to even out my skin tone and make it look more radiant and healthy. Due to the harsh cold weather, my skin tends to look dull and lacklustre in Winter in comparison to the Summer months when its more tanned and radiant. When I first received this product, I was quite dubious to try it as I thought it might be very harsh on the skin and I had visions of it stinging on application due to its acid ingredients. However, its actually very gentle and although it lightly tingles after application, it doesn't cause any uncomfortable sensations. I've been applying it a couple of times a week to cleansed skin and leaving it to work its magic through the night. I've definitely noticed my skin is more radiant the day after I've used this and I can't wait to keep using it and seeing more long-term results in the overall texture and appearance of my skin.

Talking of skincare, I just want to mention a fab website I was recently introduced to, Salon Skincare**. They sell a huge range of skincare products, including some of these mentioned in this post, with big discounts or in supersize salon bottles. Its definitely worth checking out if you're a skincare fan or want to get some good deals on Christmas presents! They sell the supersize Alpha H Liquid Gold and Balancing Cleanser duo worth £117.00 for only £59.00.. bargain!

Have you tried any of these products? Which skin care products have you been loving lately?

Lots of love,

Urban Decay Naked Basics VS Naked Basics 2

Urban Decay Cosmetics, Urban Decay Naked Basics 2, Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes, Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes Comparisons, Urban Decay Naked Basics VS Naked Basics 2,

You know those items that are forever on your wish list but you just never get around to buying them? For some reason you just can't justify the purchse? Well for me, that was 100% the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I already have the other Naked palettes so I figured I was being a little greedy getting another one. Also, who wants a palette of only matte shades? Personally, I'm all about the shimmer, or so I thought. However, I've recently realised just how important matte shades are - they're so versatile and can be used in so many different ways. Whether its defining the crease, as a brow powder or eyeliner, they're so versatile.

As much as I love the other Naked palettes, I do feel they're lacking matte shades so when I saw photos of the Naked Basics 2 palette doing the rounds on Instagram, I knew I had to get my hands on it. However, my first thought was 'damn, now there's two, which ones should I get?' and I'm sure lots of you have had the same thoughts. That's where I hope this post will come in useful, a full review and side by side comparison of both palettes.

Urban Decay Cosmetics, Urban Decay Naked Basics 2, Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes, Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes Comparisons, Urban Decay Naked Basics VS Naked Basics 2,

Firstly I have to mention the size of the palette which is not a great deal bigger than the palm of my hand and less than half the size of the other Naked palettes. For some reason I thought it was going to be much bigger than this but its really small which I love as its light as a feather and easy enough to pop into my every day makeup bag. As you can see from the photos, there isn't much difference packaging wise between the two palettes, apart from lighter wording on the basics 2 palette. Inside they're exactly the same, with a large mirror and six shades going from light to dark. Here's a little comparison of the shades within each palette along with swatches...

Urban Decay Cosmetics, Urban Decay Naked Basics 2, Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes, Urban Decay Naked Basics Palettes Comparisons, Urban Decay Naked Basics VS Naked Basics 2,

The original basics palette is loved by a lot of people and I can see why. Its a super versatile little palette and all of the shades are very wearable. I do think the first three shades'Venus', 'Foxy' and 'W.O.S' are pretty similar and I definitely don't think there's a need for all three of them but they're all great for a natural brow bone / inner corner highlight or to use as a base for the other shadows. The shade 'Naked 2' is a great neutral for every day wear and because it isn't that dark, it defines the eye without looking over the top or too harsh. The shade 'Faint' is my favourite from this palette, its a basic dark brown and I love using this as a crease shade and its also a pretty good match for my eyebrows. I know a lot of people use this for their eyebrows and its great as its a fairly neutral brown that doesn't have an orange undertone. The final shade 'Crave' is a matte black which is handy for nights out when I really want to smoke things up or to use as a liner. I don't use this one a great deal as I prefer a brown smokey eye but its definitely a handy shade to have.

In comparison to the first palette which is quite warm toned, basics 2 has more of a taupe / ash undertone. Much like the original naked palette was more warm than the cool tones of Naked 2, the basics palettes have gone for a similar theme. Unlike the original basics palette, the shades in basics 2 are all totally different which is great as I've found I've used all of them, rather than a select few. Again there's a great highlight / inner corner shade in 'Skimp', a great neutral base shade in 'Stark' and 'Frisk', 'Cover' and 'Primal' are all perfect for the crease. I've been using Cover none stop as the ashy brown shade is really flattering on my skin tone and it looks great in the crease. The final shade in the palette is 'Undone', a deep charcoal grey with hints of brown that is much more wearable than the black shade in the original basics palette.

Overall, I'd have to say the Naked Basics 2 is my favourite of the two but as you can see, they are very similar. I think the best way to decide which one to go for is the have a think about what kind of shades you prefer - warm of ashy. I'd say the first palette is better for warm / olive skin tones and the second palette is great for us pale gals! However, I have to be honest and say I love both of the palettes and if you can afford it, why not get both? Matte neutral shades will always come in handy so you can never have too many! I've used one of these palettes every single day since I got them.

I also want to mention the fab company Cohorted that very kindly sent me these palettes as I'm pretty sure you're all going to love them. They're a fantastic new beauty website that sells a selection of popular beauty products at discounted prices. Every Monday at 6pm they launch four new products and the more people that commit to buy the product, the lower the price it will sell for. They do have limits on how low the prices can go  but the discounts can go up to a huge 50% off which is just incredible. Make sure you head over to their website to find out more and see which 'Cohorts' are coming up - they have an option to pop your email address in and be notified when the 'Cohort' for a product you're interested in goes live so you don't miss out. The basics 2 palette is one of the products up for grabs so if you want to get it for a bargain price (it went for £15 last time) head on over now.

Which of these palettes do you prefer? Will you be getting one, or both?

Lots of love,
