AMAZING Beauty Box Alert | Glossybox for Harvey Nichols

Oh I do love a good limited edition beauty box. I'm not a massive lover of monthly beauty box subscriptions as I think the contents can be very hit and miss but when beauty box brands bring out a limited edition box, the contents are usually pretty damn amazing. Take Latest In Beauty for example - their 'Glamour Beauty Edit' boxes are always a big hit and amazing value for money! With this being said, when an email landed in my inbox to tell me Glossybox had teamed up with Harvey Nichols to create their latest limited edition box*, I was pretty excited. Lets face it, Harvey Nicks is a high-end establishment and I knew that the contents of the box would live up to that high-end name.

However, when the box arrived in the post, adorned with Christmassy snowflake design might I add, I was pretty shocked by just how great the contents of this box are. I think my mouth may have dropped open in shock - no word of a lie. My eye was immediately caught by some of my favourite brands including NARS, Benefit and Elemis so I couldn't wait to get stuck in and see what was in there. Here's the eleven amazing products I I found inside ...

Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (full size)
Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (sample size)
Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum (sample size)
Rodial Bee Venom Moisturiser( sample size)
Benefit They're Real Mascara (sample size)
Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment (sample size)
OPI Avoplex Moisture Replenishing Hand Cream (full size)
NARS Satin Lip Pencil (full size)
La Coupe Coconut and Macadamia Oil (sachet)
SHOW Beauty Sheer Thermal Protect (full size)
Harvey Nichols Mini Scented Candle (full size)

I'm not going to go into great detail about all of the products in the box because this post would be ridiculously long if I did and I've not had chance to try them all yet but what I will say is, there isn't one product in this box that I wouldn't use. I've already tried some of them and I'm pretty in love with the SHOW Beauty Thermal Protect (which is worth £35 on it own) and the NARS Satin Lip Pencil (why have I never tried these until now?!).

The box is priced at £30 for subscribers of Glossybox and £35 for non-subscribers which is exceptional value for money as its contents are worth a huge £150. I think it would make the PERFECT Christmas present for any beauty lover and although I doubt there's any guys reading this, you would get some serious boyfriend/husband points if you bought your other half one of these boxes. Or why not treat your mum, sister or best friend to one? I bought my best friend a limited edition beauty box for her birthday last year and she was over the moon with it!

If you like what you see, you can register your email here and start buying your box before anyone else when it goes on sale tomorrow! I have a feeling this is going to sell like hotcakes so if you're interested, go and register right away!

Do you like the look of this box? Will you be snapping one up?

Lots of love,

March Glossybox - The Harrods Edition

Hey beautiful people! I know this is completely over-due and most of you have probably already read a million reviews on the Harrods Glossybox, but I wanted to give you my thoughts anyway. I've been visiting family in the Lake District for the past week so I couldn't get my hands on my Glossybox until I got back to Newcastle yesterday.
Of course, being the beauty blogger that I am, I ripped into my Glossybox and took some pictures for you all to see straight away.
This months box is 'The Harrods Edition' meaning all of the items are from the Harrods cosmetics hall. It all sounded very exciting and I was expecting BIG things after my disappointment with last months offerings. This months box is black and white instead of the standard pale pink and brown box. I think this colour scheme is my favourite so far. It is very chic looking and I loved the green 'Harrods' ribbon/black paper combo securing all the products together. Anyway, moving on to the product inside the box.

Narciso Rodriguez For her Eua De Parfum - Its always nice to try a new perfume but for me this isn't something I'm impressed with in a beauty box claiming to provide us with '5 luxury products' each month. In my opinion, this is something anyone could get for free if they went into a department store and asked for a perfume sample. I just feel a bit cheated with this product, and it doesn't even smell nice. Far too floral for me, but that's just my personal opinion.

Molton Brown Heavenly Ginger Lily Moisture bath & shower - Again, I'm afraid I was disappointed with this product too. Don't get me wrong, it smells absolutely lovely and I know Molton & Brown are a great brand but my first thought when opening the box was 'not another shower gel'. I think I have received one in every single box I've got so far and currently have a collection of mini shower gels gathering at the end of my bath. Great for people who love bath and shower products, but for me I think there are far more interesting products out there. This is also the largest product in this months box at 50ml.

YSL - Forever Youth Liberator - I was quite excited when I saw this product as obviously YSL is a very high-end brand. Put it this way, a 50ml bottle of this on the YSL website costs £80.00. Anyway, as I had a closer look I realised this is an anti-ageing products. Now, I'm only 21 so I obviously don't need to use anti-ageing products. Surely Glossybox know their target audience is mainly young people and would want to provide us with something slightly more 'age-appropriate'? Even though this product is obviously for older people, I am still going to give it ago as you can't start the anti-ageing process too early right?

Burberry Beauty - Miniature Lip Mist Copper No202 - I was definitely the most excited about this product. I mean, how cute is this miniature lipstick? I also LOVE the packaging, so chic and stylish. To be honest, I didn't even know Burberry has a make-up range so it was nice to discover something new. Seeing make-up products in my Glossybox makes me happy, as for me, that's the reason I signed up. As much as I enjoy skincare, haircare and fragrance, I get much more joy from beauty products. The colour I received was 'Copper No202' which is a lovely nude 'copper' shade. I have tried this on and it is a lovely colour, moisturising on the lips, almost like a like balm and it tastes amazing. Yes, I did say tastes. I put this on my lips and a few minutes later I could taste parma violets. You know those purple sweets? This tastes exactly like those. Yummy. This will also be fab to take in my hand-luggage when I go to Australia next month. It is the perfect size for on the go touch-ups. I would definitely buy a full size version of this if it wasn't for the £22.50 price tag. *sobs*.

Clarins - Extra-Firming Body Cream - I have tried Clarins products in the past and they are lovely so I was happy to see a product from this brand. However, when I noticed it was a body cream, I was slightly disappointed. For me, I just never use body creams. I have tried to get into the habit of moisturising my body but I can just never be bothered. I find it too much of a faff, much like fake-tanning. I am definitely going to give it ago though as it would be a waste otherwise. It does smell absolutely gorgeous so I'm sure I will enjoy slathering my body with it. I also noticed that this product is also aimed at an older audience. On the leaflet Glossybox provides with a list of the products, it says 'for firmer skin and a younger looking body'. I don't know why Glossybox went mad with the anti-ageing products this month. Strange.

So there we have it, my thoughts on this months Glossybox. I'd just like to say, all opinions are personal to me. I realise other people may love the products I was disappointed with. I like to give you all an honest opinion so I hope you didn't take offence by anything I said. As I am going to Australia next month, Aprils box will be my last before I cancel my subscription. I hope they pull something good out of the bag.

What did you think of this months Glossybox? Do you like the look of any of the produts?

Lots of Love,

Kayleigh..

xXx.

February Glossybox

I know my Glossybox post is a bit late this month but it's because I didn't receive mine until a week after everybody else. Apparently there was a 'problem with payment' which meant they couldn't post it. Anyway, that finally got resolved and I received my pretty pink box in the post. This is the first box I've had in the original Glossybox colours as the Christmas and Valentine's boxes were red and hot pink. I think I like the original colours best, pale pink and brown is a nice little colour combo in my opinion.
So, moving on to the products I received in this months box:

BECCA Beach Tint Watermelon - This product is a lip and cheek stain in a lovely raspberry colour. I had never heard of this brand before but since trying this out it does created a lovely sheen on both the cheeks and lips. It's always lovely to receive a multi-purpose product.

Dr Bronner Lavender Hand Sanitiser - Hmmmmm. I'm not sure I'm overly impressed with receiving a hand sanitiser in a 'high-end' beauty box? I wouldn't really class this as a beauty product. Yes, it is a useful this to have in my handbag but I think Glossybox could of chose a more suitable alternative.

Awapuhi by Paul Michell - Wild ginger treatment oil - I was most excited to see this product in my box as I am really into hair care at the minute. As I have my hair bleached I have to use lots of products to keep it in good condition so I can see myself getting the most use from this product. This is also the largest item I received. I have used this a couple of times and liked the results. I'm not sure about the overpowering smell of ginger though. It's not really a scent I want my hair to smell of.

BM Beauty pure mineral eyeshadow - This is the second make-up item I received this month. To be honest I had never heard of the brand BM Beauty but I liked the sound of a mineral eyeshadow. I got a matte black shade which is a little boring. MAC Carbon is my staple black colour so I didn't really need another black. However, I'm sure it will come in useful and I will give it a try regardless. The only thing about these types of eyeshadows is the MESS. I'm very messy when I'm getting ready so I can just see this going everywhere.

Como Shambhala Invigorate Shower Gel - Again, unimpressed with this. I think I've had a shower gel in all three boxes I've had now. I did love the full-size Rituals shower gel I received in the December box but I'm just getting a bit sick of seeing them now. It's as though they run out of ideas and decide to throw a shower gel in there for good measure. I did try this and wasn't even impressed with the smell or formula. Thumbs down.

So there we have it, February Glossybox. For me, I liked two of the five products I received but I still wouldn't go out and buy the full-size versions or spend the £12.00 a month Glossybox subscription for them. Each month I am becoming more and more disappointed with Glossybox and am considering cancelling my subscription. The only thing that is keeping me hanging on is the March 'Harrods' box, which sounds exciting. I've seen a lot of bad reviews on this months Glossybox so they need to pull something big out of the bag to win people around again. I do still love the idea of Glossybox, I just think they need to re-think the type of products they are including. At the moment, I would rather have my £12.95 to spend on one full-size product I know I'm going to love.

Sorry if this review sounds like a total whinge but I like to give my honest opinions on my blog. Theres no point in raving about something if you were un-happy with it.

What did you think of this months Glossybox? Did you receive different products to me?

Lots of Love,

Kayleigh..

xXx.
