An All Time Fave | MAC Girl About Town Lipstick

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick - Link

Hi Ladies! After going out on Saturday night and wearing this lipstick it dawned on me that I have never reviewed it on my blog. I instantly thought I must review it as this is one of my all time favourites, if not my absolute favourite lipstick. If you read my blog regularly you will know by now that I am obsessed with berry lipsticks and own an abundance of them. Well, I have to say - GAT (I will refer to it as GAT throughout this post - Lazy haha!) is the perfect berry shade and particularly beautiful for the Autumn/Winter months.

I have owned this lipstick for over a year now and it is always top of my list when it comes to a night out. As you can see from my little collage above, I wear it on a regular basis and never get bored of it. It has been worn for all sorts of occasions and although it is a bright shade, I find the deeper pink shade with purple undertones makes it much more classy than your standard fuchsia. As with all MAC lipsticks, the quality of this lipstick is absolutely stunning. It is highly pigmented, creamy and feels moisturising on my lips. GAT is one of MAC's 'amplified' formula lipsticks which are a personal favourite of mine. I find them to be the most pigmented of all their lipsticks yet not drying in the slightest which is often a down fall of super pigmented lip products. I also find that this shade is very long wearing and even when it does start to wear off, it leaves a nice stain on the lips instead of a smudgy mess.

Of course the only down fall of this product is the price. MAC lipsticks now retail for 14.00 which has slowly crept up since I bought this for £12.50 around a year ago. However, although it is expensive, I would 100% repurchase it over and over again. As I said, I have owned this for over a year now and still have plenty left. As it is so highly pigmented, I find a little goes a long way and one swipe over my lips is all I need for an opaque, bold lip. With that in mind, I do believe the price is completely justified.

Whats your fave MAC lipstick? I'd love to hear your suggestions as I almost have 6 empties for Back to MAC so will be going to pick a new one up soon. Have you tried GAT?

Lots of Love,

Revlon NOTD | Classy Sparkles

Revlon Nail Polishes - Classy & Sparkling

Hey Ladies! I spotted these two nail polishes whilst out shopping recently and thought they were such pretty neutrals that I just had to buy them. Now I'm not the most adventurous person when it comes to nails, I usually stick with bog standard plain polishes and haven't the foggiest how to do nail art. I really wish I could do that pretty Kath Kidston floral look on my mitts but unless I go to a professional, it's just not going to happen. With that being said, something like a glitter polish is my best friend in the nail department as they instantly spruce up a basic polish. The fact I'm partial to a bit of glitter from time to time meant I just couldn't resist this bottle of gorgeous pink glitteryness. As glitter can be quite in your face, I like to keep it fairly subtle hence the neutral colours and as soon as I bought these my plan was to paint my nails with 'classy' the pale peachy pink shade and layer 'sparkling' the glitter over the top to add a more interesting twist.

To be honest, Revlon is never a brand I would normally look at for nail polishes but since being in Australia I have got more and more into them as they seem to be a lot more popular out here than they are in the UK. I am glad I have found a new love for them though as the packaging and product itself is absolutely lovely. I think the packaging makes the product look more expensive than it actually is with the sleek black lids and gold revlon branding. They are also fairly large bottles with 14ml of product inside so you get a good amount of product for your money.

The formula of these polishes is lovely, I'd describe them as being quite 'wet' but I like that in a nail polish. Theres nothing worse than trying to apply a polish that is really thick and gloopy. I did need to do two coats to achieve an opaque finish but I find this is pretty standard with most nail polishes and didn't mind at all. As you can see from the photos above, the finished result turned out cute and glittery yet still subtle at the same time. I love the pale peach shade and I think it would look even better if I was a bit more tanned. I also like how the glitter has bigger chunks which catch the light nicely. I only applied one coat of the glitter but it could be built up with a few more coats. I also think this combination would look perfect on toe nails.

As I said, I bought these in Australia but they are widely available the high street and online and retail for £6.49. Both of these shades are available on the Boots website here.

I hope you enjoyed this post as nail posts aren't something I do very often. As I said, I'm a bit poop with nails but I would highly recommend giving the Revlon range a try.

Have you ever tried any Revlon nail polishes?

Lots of Love,

A New Favourite | Revlon 'Lollipop' Lip Butter

Hey Lovelies! I recently tweeted about how much I am loving 'Lollipop' Lip Butter by Revlon. It has quickly become my go-to lip product and has found a comfortable position among my favourites. For me, its all about the lips. If you are a regular reader of myy blog, I'm sure you will know by now how much I love lip products. I actually worked out the other day I have around 40 lipsticks. I was quite shocked at myself when I worked it out, obsessed much? Anyway, I realise I have blogged about the lip butters in a previous post here but I wanted to dedicate one just to the shade Lollipop. I've said it all before but I'll say it again. I love the packaging, the formula, the pigmentation and most of all I love the colour. I am a huge fan of a deep pink lip and have quite the collection. From MAC 'Girl About Town' to my most recent Inglot purchase, its clear to see this is one of my favourite lip colours. However, there is just something extra special about this lip butter that makes me reach for it over all my other berry pink shades. I think the formula of this product makes it exceptionally wearable. I have worn this during the day and also on a night out which is something I haven't done with my MAC or Inglot lipsticks. I think the glossy finish these lip butters provide makes them very versatile as I can add a hint of colour or build it up so it is bright and bold. As you can see from the picture above, when paired with a fairly neutral eye it really brightens up my face and gives my makeup a more polished look. I also own Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait and Tutti Frutti lip butters but 'Lollipop' is my favourite by far. I bought mine from Boots on the 3 for 2 offer so I'd highly recommend holding out for that and giving these a try. They are a much cheaper than high-end lipsticks at only £7.99 each and in my opinion they are just as lovely.

Do you love the Revlon Lip Butters as much as I do? Whats your favourite shade?
I hope you have all had a lovely weekend!

Lots of Love,
